Markus Dorner / Christian Matt

Markus Dorner, born in 1960 in Bregenz, Vorarlberg. Christian Matt, born in 1961 in Bregenz, Vorarlberg. Dorner and Matt have been friends since they were ten years old. Dorner studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Timo Penttilä; Matt completed his studies at the Vienna University of Technology under Helmut Richter. After his formal education, Dorner worked with Volker Giencke in Graz, while Matt was project manager for Jean Nouvel in Paris. The collaboration with Nouvel on the Gasometer A construction project in Vienna brought the two of them together again. Since 1997, the Dorner/Matt partnership has led to numerous competition successes and awards.
