Andreas Cukrowicz

Born in 1969 in Bregenz, Vorarlberg. Completed his degree in architecture at the Vienna University of Technology (1988–93) and was in Professor Penttilä’s masterclass at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1993 to 1996. In 1992, while still a student, he began working together with Anton Nachbaur-Sturm. Immediately after graduating, the two of them set up the architectural firm Cukrowicz Nachbaur Architekten in 1996. In addition to his work as an architect, Cukrowicz is on several architectural advisory boards and was president of the Vorarlberg branch of the Central Association of Austrian Architects from 2005 to 2011. Since 2011, he has been a deputy member of the Committee of Independent Experts in Vorarlberg. In 2010, his varied range of teaching activities took him to the University of Art and Design Linz and the Campus Spittal Carinthia University of Applied Sciences; in 2012–13, he was a visiting professor on the architecture master's programme at the Technische Universität München.
